European Roma Rights Centre website closed in protest

Today we’re excluding you (and everyone else) from our website – just as the Hungarian government is excluding its citizens, especially vulnerable groups of society (including Roma), from participation in society.

Constitutional changes came into force yesterday that will have a disproportionate impact on the poorest and most vulnerable, including Roma. For example, homelessness can be criminalised by local authorities. Democracy and the rule of law are being continually undermined by ongoing changes.

The European Roma Rights Centre is one of nine organisations closing its website on 2 April, in protest at recent changes to the Hungarian constitution. The ERRC is an international organisation based in Budapest, Hungary. Eight Hungarian NGOs are also participating in the action.
