György Cserhalmi, a well-known Hungarian actor announced he was going to quit the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA). (Hungarian Art Academy used to be a politically right orientated art association, which became a public body. Hungarian Art Academy’s director, György Fekete, is supported by the Orbán administration. The authorisation of the Hungarian Art Academy stirs up the Hungarian art life as its director and policy are contentious.) György Cserhalmi said he had made no scruples when he had got nominated. He realized after Fekete’s recent declarations, he has nothing to do with this company. The last straw for him was when the protesters were bounced last Saturday from an MMA event. According to Cserhalmi’s viewpoint they should have been listened to and the controversial issues should have been discussed.
